Thousands of angry taxpayers are expected at the state Capitol today to protest the pay raise that lawmakers awarded themselves.
Protesters armed with whistles and cow bells plan to raise the decibel level as the House returns to session for the first day since lawmakers approved the pay grab July 7. With a rock band as a backdrop, banners will proclaim the day's themes "Rock the Capital" and "Repeal." A 25-foot inflatable pig will convey what some protesters think of lawmakers. A caravan of vehicles was set to circle the Capitol with horns blaring.
