New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has now revised the mandatory evacuation order issued before the storm hit. He also is making it clear that "mandatory " means people do not have a choice. He is gives power to:
"New Orleans Police Department, the New Orleans Fire Department, the National Guard and any branch of the U.S. Military, is hereby instructed and authorized to compel the evacuation of all persons from the City of New Orleans, regardless of whether such persons are on private property or do not desire to leave."
It is beyond me why any sane person would want to stay in that area, but the question must be asked, should government force people from their homes and property if they do not wish to go?
What are your thoughts?
