Despite a host of security measures built into new U.S. currency, discoveries of counterfeit money have jumped 10-fold in western Pennsylvania in the last six months - even showing up in at least one local church's collection plates.Jeff Eisenbeiser, head of the Secret Service's Pittsburgh office, warned business owners and residents to be wary of the larger bills they receive.
"We're asking business owners and the community to be the front lines in this effort," he said at a Tuesday's news conference.The Secret Service has arrested 16 small-time counterfeiters in western Pennsylvania in the last year, but Eisenbeiser said it made no impact on the dramatic rise in weekly fake cash flooding the market.
